preparing Food

We eat to survive, but during a dieta, we eat to listen, feel, and align.
What we consume becomes part of the conversation with the plant.

Preparing the Tea

  1. Measure the leaves

    • Take the amount of Acacia courtii leaves provided for your daily practice.

  2. Boil the water

    • Bring fresh, clean water to a gentle boil.

  3. Simmer the leaves

    • Place the leaves in a small pot or heat-proof cup.

    • Pour the boiling water over them.

    • Allow the leaves to steep for 10–15 minutes. Keep the lid on to hold the aroma and medicine in.

  4. Strain & pour

    • Once steeped, strain the tea into your drinking cup.

    • Hold the cup mindfully before drinking, acknowledging the plant spirit.

Drinking the Tea

  • Drink slowly, with presence.

  • Allow the warmth and medicine to enter your body with each sip.

  • Notice the taste, the sensations, and how your body responds.

  • After finishing, take a few quiet breaths before beginning your meditation or practice.

Important Notes

  • Prepare the tea fresh each morning as part of your dieta practice.

  • Keep your intention clear: this is not just a drink, but a communion with the plant.

  • Always approach the preparation with respect and mindfulness — this is the opening of your daily ceremony.

🌿 Altar Preparation for the Acacia Courtii Dieta

Why Prepare an Altar?

An altar is a physical and energetic focal point. It grounds your intention, creates a sacred atmosphere, and serves as a bridge between you, the plant spirit, and the unseen world.

Steps to Prepare Your Altar

  1. Choose a Space

    • Find a clean, quiet spot in your home where you won’t be disturbed.

    • Ideally, face the altar towards the east (direction of new beginnings and illumination), though this is flexible.

  2. Cleanse the Area

    • Wipe the surface clean.

    • Optionally, burn a little sage, palo santo, or native Australian leaves (like eucalyptus) to clear the space.

  3. Create the Foundation

    • Place a cloth or mat as the base. A simple natural fabric is best.

    • This marks the altar as a sacred space separate from daily life.

  4. Sacred Elements

    • Plant Connection: Place a sprig of wattle, leaves, or even your Acacia courtii tea cup at the center.

    • Fire: A candle to symbolize light and transformation.

    • Water: A small bowl of fresh water for life force and flow.

    • Earth: A stone, crystal, or soil to represent grounding.

    • Air: Incense, feathers, or something that carries breath and spirit.

  5. Personal & Ancestral Items

    • Add items that connect you to your lineage and heart — a photo, a piece of jewelry, or a symbol of your intention.

    • Keep it simple and meaningful; each item should have purpose.

  6. Offerings

    • You may place offerings such as flowers, seeds, or fruit as a gesture of reciprocity with the plant spirit.

Using the Altar

  • Sit before the altar when you drink your Acacia tea.

  • Begin with a moment of silence, acknowledging the plant and inviting its spirit to guide you.

  • Return to the altar at the end of your meditation to give thanks.

  • Refresh water and offerings daily as a sign of respect.

✨ This altar becomes your personal sacred garden indoors — a container where the teachings of Acacia courtii can unfold safely and deeply.e rest.
